About Cassandra
If you’re here, something in your life has started to feel too heavy to carry alone. Maybe you’re new to therapy. Maybe you’ve tried before and are hoping this time feels different. Either way, reaching out is a big deal, and I’m so proud of you for taking this step.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on meeting you exactly where you’re at. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s been going on, make sense of your feelings, and notice the strengths you already have, even if they feel hard to see right now. I have a special interest in working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, and supporting youth and adolescents as they navigate life’s challenges.
I’m completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, building on my undergraduate training in Child and Youth Care and Autism & Behavioural Science. Outside of my clinical work, I’ve been a dance teacher for over a decade. Being in the studio with kids and teens has shown me how powerful it is to feel encouraged, understood, and accepted exactly as you are. I bring that same energy into therapy – a space where you can show up as your full self, feel genuinely seen, and explore your capacity for healing and growth at your own pace. I believe therapy works best when you feel supported rather than pressured, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you.
If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to connect for a free consultation.
Who I Work Best With
I tend to work best with:
I tend to work well with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, and who are looking for a supportive space to better understand themselves.
I especially enjoy working with clients who are open to reflection, curiosity, and gradual change, even when things feel uncertain at first. Over time, many people begin to feel more seen, understood, and connected to their own strengths, and it is meaningful to be part of that process.
The conversations I find myself having again and again
Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and the lasting effects of trauma. They often arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. In our work together, we gently explore the patterns that may be getting in the way of the life they want, while building self-awareness, self-compassion, and practical coping strategies that fit their everyday lives.
It is deeply meaningful to me to support clients as they begin to reconnect with their strengths, notice small but important shifts, and build resilience over time. I feel honoured to witness people create change that feels authentic, sustainable, and aligned with who they are.
What gives me hope
What continues to give me hope is witnessing clients begin to recognize their own progress, often in ways they did not anticipate. Change is rarely linear, and it can take time to notice just how far someone has come. Over time, I have seen people build insight, grow in self-compassion, and reconnect with strengths they once felt distant from. These moments stay with me and serve as a reminder that meaningful growth is always possible, even when it feels far away at the beginning.
What's my story
I've always known I wanted to work in a helping profession. My journey began with an undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care, followed by a graduate certificate in Autism and Behaviour Science. Graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic gave me the opportunity to reflect on the direction I wanted my career to take while also encouraging me to invest in my own healing and personal growth.
That experience reinforced my belief that healing is not linear and that everyone deserves a safe, compassionate space to explore their experiences. It continues to shape how I work with clients, approaching each person with empathy, authenticity, and respect for their unique story.

What's it like to work with me
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you explore challenges, build on your strengths, and move toward the life you want. I aim to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and genuinely human, where you feel heard, understood, and encouraged as you navigate your own process. I also want you to feel comfortable showing up as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out.

What misconceptions about therapy do you often challenge?
A common misconception about therapy is that it is simply about “talking to someone” or paying someone to listen. While feeling heard is an important part of the process, therapy often goes much deeper than that. It is a space where we pay attention not only to what is shared, but also to what may be harder to put into words, gently exploring patterns, emotions, and experiences together in a way that can bring clarity and meaning.
Another misconception I often come across is the idea that struggling with mental health reflects weakness. In my experience, challenges like anxiety, depression, and overwhelm are deeply human experiences. Reaching out for support is not a sign of failure, but an act of courage and self-awareness. Many people are also surprised by how manageable a first session can feel once they are in the room, as it is simply a conversation at your pace, with space to get to know each other and begin where you are.
Who are you when you're not working
Outside of work, I feel most grounded when I am connected to the arts. I grew up as a competitive dancer, and dance continues to be a meaningful part of my life through teaching and sharing that passion with others. It is a space where I feel both expressive and present, and I value how movement can communicate what words sometimes cannot.
I also really appreciate quiet moments spent reading, listening to music, and writing. These simple routines help me slow down, recharge, and reconnect with myself so I can stay present and engaged in both my personal and professional life.
