About Stephanie

Hi, I’m Stephanie. I’m glad you’re here.

I am passionate about giving everyone the space and support to navigate life’s hardest chapters on their own terms. I specialize in helping clients work through burnout, workplace dynamics, personal relationships, minority stress, loss, and grief. My goal is to collaborate with you to find a path that fits your life and is kind to your well-being.

My journey to therapy included a previous career in corporate environments, and volunteer crisis line work supporting sexual assault survivors. I am a Chinese Canadian born in Toronto and grew up in Hong Kong. Outside of the clinic, I am a millennial mom that enjoys nature. I understand the shock of change, the intense exhaustion of parenthood, and the parental anxiety. I have navigated grief and loss in my own ways, along with the guilt and shame that sometimes accompanies it.

In the clinic, I bring together your self-expertise on your life with proven therapeutic methods to skip the guesswork and build a path forward that honours you and your story.

If this resonates, I offer a free consultation so you can get a feel for my approach and decide if we are a good fit. If my standard fees are a barrier, I am happy to offer a sliding scale rate that fits your current circumstances.

Who I Work Best With

People who are going through a challenging chapter in life and are looking for a space to reflect and reconnect with themselves.

Individuals who have been holding a lot together and want support navigating stress, relationships, or boundaries.

Clients who enjoy a collaborative approach and want to work together toward meaningful change.

Parents, immigrants, and those navigating cultural identity who may enjoy working with someone with shared lived experiences.

Individuals processing grief, loss, burnout, workplace challenges, or other life transitions.

What gives me hope

Since I started my journey as a Therapist Intern, I have had the privilege of witnessing the meaningful changes that my clients have made as they work towards the lives they want for themselves. It is a privilege to witness and support the courage and bravery to choose to ask for help, to show up when it is difficult, and to take those first small steps towards change.

My experience supporting survivors of sexual assault has shown me that when people are met with safety, compassion, and support, they can begin to direct their energy toward their own needs. Healing after trauma is not a linear process, and each person's journey looks different.

Who are you when you're not working

When I am not working, I am someone who is also learning to care for myself through the everyday stresses of life. One thing I have learned is that different types of stress can affect us in different ways, and what helps us recharge can change depending on the stress we are carrying.

I believe self-care is not about finding one perfect solution, it is an ongoing process to understanding ourselves and responding to what we need in different seasons of life.

What's my story

In my personal life, experiencing grief and loss has profoundly shaped my understanding of what it means to grieve not only who or what was lost, but also the futures and possibilities we had imagined. I have come to understand that grief is rarely just sadness. Grief often brings overwhelming waves of guilt, shame, anger, confusion, longing, and emotions that may be difficult to make sense of.

Before pursuing therapy, I worked in corporate environments where I witnessed the toll that burnout, chronic stress, feeling undervalued, and challenging workplace dynamics can have on a person's well-being. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for both the importance and the challenges of setting healthy boundaries, practicing self-compassion, and creating sustainable ways of working and living.

What's it like to work with me

My approach is gentle and open. My goal is to meet you where you are, listen with curiosity and compassion, and create a space where you feel safe to share what feels important to you. Together, we find a way of working that honours your needs, readiness, and goals.

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”
