Who I Work Best With
I tend to work best with:
I have experience supporting individuals and families navigating emotional and behavioural challenges, relationship difficulties, mental health concerns, and major life stressors.
I especially enjoy working with clients who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and the patterns that shape their lives. Together, we explore how these patterns can provide insight into what truly matters to them, while helping them maintain hope and reconnect with their core values.
My practice is grounded in an integrative, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive approach. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and strengths-based approaches to support clients in understanding their experiences, clarifying their needs and desires, and feeling seen, heard, and understood in their daily lives.
The conversations I find myself having again and again
Many clients share that the challenges they face are deeply rooted in multidimensional realities shaped by familial and cultural complexities, unresolved feelings, and hidden traumas. Often, during their first few therapy sessions, they begin to notice that their inner voices may be obscured by layers of self-doubt and internalized beliefs. They come to realize that these barriers can prevent them from thriving.
One client once shared, "Sometimes we are like watching the world through a small hole in a paper screen. We can observe it, yet remain separated by the world's labels." It was a powerful moment when they realized they could reconcile their internal dialogues and find greater peace within themselves by recognizing the patterns in their behaviours and the emotions that underlay their inner conflicts.
Conversations about identity, self-discovery, and making sense of lived experiences through each client's unique perspective are especially meaningful to me. I value supporting clients as they deepen their understanding of themselves, uncover their unheard inner voices, and find their own path toward healing and growth.
What's it like to work with me
I would describe my therapeutic style as fluid, collaborative, and client-centred. I value meeting clients where they are and following their pace as we explore what matters most to them Someone might find it surprising how dynamic and meaningful the process is for me, as I notice very small moments in therapy, and they often become meaningful turning points for clients.
I pay close attention to moments where clients may be compartmentalizing their experiences, and I gently support them in staying present with these difficult emotions without bypassing or dismissing them.
I also value reviewing internal thought processes and reflections with clients in each session. In my view, there are no failures—each insight and reflection is meaningful and worthy of acknowledgment and celebration.
I see every challenge as an opportunity for growth and for moving closer to the person one aspires to become.
What's my story
Everyone has an unspoken story to tell. We all long for a purposeful life and the opportunity to reach our fullest potential. No single aspect of our identity defines who we are.
I am a Chinese Canadian, born in Canada and raised between Hong Kong and Toronto. Growing up across different cultures has given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of identity and the many intersecting experiences that shape who we become. I understand that each person's sense of self is influenced by multiple cultural, social, and personal identities, as well as the meanings they assign to those experiences.
We live in a society where judgment, assumptions, and stereotypes can often influence how people are perceived. However, these external expectations should never define who we are or limit who we can become. I believe that every individual has unique strengths, stories, and possibilities that deserve to be explored and honored.
My work is grounded in helping people uncover their authentic selves, embrace their lived experiences, and recognize their inherent potential. Through a collaborative and compassionate process, I support clients in exploring their stories, building self-understanding, and developing the confidence to live in alignment with who they truly are.

Who are you when you're not working
I feel most grounded when I go for walks with my dogs, partner, and child on forest trails after a long day of work. Simply being in nature and sharing those moments together brings me a deep sense of joy. When I am at home, I love petting my cats and talking to them—they bring me comfort and a sense of calm. Seeing their smiles while we are together is one of the most meaningful parts of my time outside of work.

What's something being a therapist has taught you about people
We are all human—no matter what roles we take in life, we all face struggles, endure challenges, and strive to grow. One lesson I continually return to is the importance of staying curious.
Despite more than 10 years of experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges, developmental challenges, children and youth, and couples, I have learned the importance of humbling myself and learning from the person in front of me. There is no single formula that works for everyone.
I have come to understand that relationships are always mutual; while we each have our limitations, even the smallest breakthrough can shift what once felt overwhelming or unmanageable. I continue to value walking alongside clients as they find the courage to face what once felt like an “elephant in the room.”
What misconceptions about therapy do you often challenge
I don’t believe people always need to come to therapy because something is “wrong.” Rather, I see therapy as a space to reconnect with oneself. In a society that often pressures us to constantly perform and become “better,” it can be easy to lose touch with our inner world.
Without slowing down to understand the roots of how we think, feel, and act, we can become disconnected from ourselves and more vulnerable to burnout. Therapy offers an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and better understand the patterns that shape our lives.
