About Taylor

Hi there, I am glad you are here.

Have you been experiencing anxious thoughts, feelings of low mood or burnout? Or maybe you have been struggling with thoughts surrounding your body image, self-esteem, and eating habits. You may be neurodivergent and feel you cannot be authentically yourself around others. Or maybe you have noticed repeating patterns or feel you are unable to manage your emotions…

Reaching out for support can take so much courage, and you do not have to be alone in your journey. My name is Taylor, and I am happy to support. Growing up, I saw the first-hand impact mental health can have through those closest to me. Navigating that time in my life sparked my passion for supporting those in need. This was only further solidified by my time spent volunteering with crisis lines and through my education.

But I know everyone’s story is different, and I hold a deep respect for each of our lived experiences. My role is to provide a safe space and walk alongside you in this journey as we uncover insights into how your life story influenced you today. My approach not only focuses on insight, but I also aim to help you build the tools so you can fill your emotional regulation toolbox.

My approach is formed through key principles I hold, including collaboration, inclusivity, warmth, empathy, compassion, curiosity, non-judgement, and authenticity. I hold these close to me and believe this influences how I enter into the therapy space. Together we work collaboratively to uncover new insights and create change.

I am informed by aspects of several approaches including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialogic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Outside of the therapy space, I try to engage in meaningful things that bring me joy, even if small! Including trying new recipes, hiking outdoors, being around my loved ones, listening to music, or spending time with my beloved cat.

As I mentioned before, reaching out takes true courage, and I am glad you are here. If you feel we might be a good fit, I welcome you to join me for a free 15–20-minute consultation so we can connect and explore this further. I look forward to meeting you ☺

Patterns & Topics That Frequently Come Up in Session

I find myself working with those who are feeling a sense of anxiety and/or low mood. They also may be dealing with challenges surrounding their self-esteem or body image. I also tend to work with neurodivergent individuals and emerging adults. My role is to walk alongside you while we discover new things about you, and we work together to create change ☺

What Inspires My Work as a Therapist

Through my experience, the courage it takes for people to reach out and seek support is inspiring. It always brings me hope to see how resilient people can be in the face of hardships. While it can take time, when people notice their need for support, reach out, gain the skills to cope, grow, and can then employ them moving forward on their own, it always highlights how strong and resilient people can be. This has always been and always will be something that brings me a great sense of hope.

What Principles Guide Your Work As A Therapist?

I hold some core values and attitudes close to me, and this influences how I am in the space. This includes an emphasis on collaboration, inclusivity, warmth, empathy, compassion, curiosity, non-judgment, and authenticity. I hold these things close and aim to bring them in with me to each session ☺

What's It Like To Work With Me

In sessions, I aim to offer a safe and inclusive space. This includes somewhere where you can be authentically yourself. I also aim to tailor my sessions to the person I am working with. This includes incorporating your strengths and lived experience. I aim to be warm, compassionate, and genuine. We are ultimately a team and collaborate together in this journey.

What Misconceptions About Therapy Do You Often Challenge?

I have noticed that some people can mistakenly believe that therapy is only for those who are experiencing certain challenges. But this can keep people from seeking support themselves, as they might believe what they are going through does not fall into that category. But everyone is deserving of support no matter what you are going through. It takes true courage to seek support, and I am glad you are here. Finally, I have noticed people can believe healing is only moving forward and any setback means they are ‘losing’ the progress they have made, but every person's journey is unique to them and ‘going back’ does not diminish progress made.

What Do You Enjoy Outside of Therapy?

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy trying new recipes, hiking outdoors, being around my loved ones, or spending time with my beloved cat.
