Kayla Hannon

Welcome! My name is Kayla and I am so happy you’re here! I have such a passion to help clients create positive change in their lives. I have completed my B.A. at Memorial University in Newfoundland where I hold a double major in Psychology and Sociology. After completing my undergrad, I worked as an ABA therapist with children who have autism and a behavioural management specialist helping clients with behavioural challenges create meaningful change through positive programming.

I have such a desire to help people and I am so pleased to be an intern here. Your story is yours to tell and making the first step in sharing it is an incredible thing! It was through my own journey as a client that I realized how important it is to have a safe, non-judgemental person to trust with your story and experiences.

I believing strongly in empowering my clients and seeking out their strengths. Some therapies I like to use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I believe the counselling journey should be a collaborative approach between counsellor and client as you know yourself best!

During my down time I like to read, crochet, and spend time with my partner and friends. As a practicum student I will be under the supervision of Judy Lui, Registered Psychotherapist. Contact me for a free 15-minute consultation as I will be accepting clients for online appointments! I can’t wait to start this journey with you 😊
