About Stephanie

Hi! My name is Stephanie and I’m a psychotherapy intern here at Your Story Counselling. I believe that each person has their own unique life story built through experiences with others, external influences, and internal meaning-making. I am honoured to be in the position to listen to life stories and help clients write new chapters in their lives.

I believe that no two people are alike and that therapy should be tailored to the goals and experiences of each client. I draw on many modalities to fit the unique needs of all clients. In particular, I utilize Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through these approaches, we can create new meanings, beginnings, and life paths to help you feel in-control and fulfilled.

Above all, I hold a profound belief that all individuals are worthy of safety and acceptance. I am committed to creating a welcoming and secure environment for every client. I achieve this through a therapeutic approach that is person-centered, strengths-based, pro-LGBTQ2S+, pro-diversity, neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and accessible.

I’m looking forward to hearing about your stories and experiences. Feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’d be a good fit!

“I am not only a thing, but also a way of being, one of many ways, and knowing the paths I have followed and the ones left to take will help me understand what I am becoming.”
