Jamieson Eakin

It can be challenging to navigate a world when in the face of oppression, disability, stigma and other barriers to success. Life can get overwhelming at times and having the right therapist to talk to and collaborate with on your goals, challenges, and emotional turmoil can really help to put things in perspective and create a plan for success.

Jamieson has been working for more than 15 years with diverse and creative community building projects such as songwriting workshops that draw on emotional experiences for healing and community building through song and dance. His therapy draws on inner strengths and creative expression to manage complex thoughts and emotions. Jamieson has lived experience as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and has worked extensively in culturally diverse groups writing, collaborating and performing in theatre and music.

Jamieson’s therapy focuses on the power of thought and intention, psychoeducation, metaphor and ritual to build healthy habits and a balanced life. His approach supports meaning making, the importance of self-efficacy, and perceived control of experiences in the healing process from both cognitive and social-constructivist perspectives.
